I'm designing my  motorhome so I can fill the water tanks from a bucket.

I have a 1.5" vent hose that I can fill the tank by gravity if need be. But in the 21 years, never had the need. Always hook up to city water-want that chlorination.

There is a web site by sani dump that lists thousands of dump points across the country. Most have water available and a lot of them are free.

Otherwise, before you fill the fuel tank, ask if you can get some water as well. If they say no, there is always another fuel station just down the road.

BTW water bandits as supplied are almost useless. To work, the two halves have to be clamped together and then another clamp needed to hold it on the spout. Otherwise you are in for lots of cold showers if the supply has any significant pressure.

I have both gravity fill and city water tank fill and it is usually much faster to fill from a hose into the gravity fill, especially if the city water pressure is low.
