Hey Folks,

Just an update on our problem with the dead throttle position sensor.  Thanks to all who chimed in and helped.

Fortunately we were in a great spot to have broken down - a hotel/campground with a level parking area.

I had two of the best minds available helping diagnose the issue - Ken Arnold and Pete Papas!
It turned out that the power source on the engine side of the ECM was missing (dead, lost, misplaced, who knows) and it took the better part of two days to do the testing and rigging.

We canceled the circuit and tapped into the chassis side for power (five volts).  So far it has worked as advertised by the two gurus.  We have now driven close to 400 miles and it is holding.  Ken is programming a new ECM which we will try to meet up with week.

What a blessing to have good friends!

Yes Gary you had 2 of the best.. Just missing BK, Don and a bacon thief.  Then it would have taken 2 weeks rather than 2 days.

Have a good rest of the trip, and keep rusty out of trouble. No Alaskan spring water.
