  Hi;
  About 10yrs ago I had a front tire blowout while doing about 65mph.
  previously, I had read in the Greyhound drivers handbook that "in
  case of emergency you can apply the park brake".  With my blowout,
  I was fast enough to do just that.  The bus (70' MC-7) shook real bad, but
  was completly controllable.  I think because of the length of the coach and
  the tag axel acted as a rudder and kept things under control.
  That was my experience, hope this helps.
