Hi All, Im fairly new to the bus scene.  I bought a 1975 MC-8 8wks ago and converted it into a Buckeye tailgaiting bus that will be used for multiple purposes.  The bus looked and ran great until today.  I went to go start it to go put it into storage for the rough winter months.  When I went to push the starter button I got nothing.  I am fairly mechanical when it comes to cars and trucks but I havent had time to familarize myself with the bus yet.  The batteries have a full charge and it is in "N".  Everything else on the bus works fine.  I dont even hear a relay clicking or anything when I push the button.  Is there a fuse or something to check?  Where would anyone start with this problem?  Im going to start to trace wires back from the starter button until I can find where the power comes in and hopefuly find out why the button has no power.  Thanks in advance for any info.

Does your bus have a rear start switch? If so, I would check that switch. Oftentimes, it seems like that switch gets tripped without knowing and keeps the front switch from working. I know I have been caught in this situation before with my 9.

I would also check the cold cranking amps that the bus is putting out despite being fully charged.

Good luck!

Wel the batteries are on and are putting out 24.6v.  Im going out now to check my reaer start switch.  Is there a safety, to prevent it from starting in gear?  I am getting 24v to the starter button but still nothing happens when pushed. Im puzzled.
Thanks

;D  You guys are awsome!!!!!  The rear start switch (which Ive never touched) was switched down to rear start.  I flipped it up to front and it started right up.  Thank you.  Thank you.  Thank you!  I will never make that mistake again.

Don't bet on it. Glad it was a simple but there are a multitude of ways for the same thing thats why were all in this together welcome to the bus nuts.

I know the feeling, here I thought I had just purchased 30,000 lbs of problems only to find out that the rear switch was flipped. I am glad I could share with you my very limited experience. I hope you one day can return the favor to all of us on this board.

Good luck and welcome! ;D
