Dear Friends,

I have just resurrected a dead 1-Terabyte hard drive that had crashed three years ago, and am rescuing the files from it. Anyway, I am going through the 13 trillion bus pictures that I had accumulated on that drive over the years.

I found this one, and wanted to ask: How many of you have something on or above your dash to remind you of the height, width and length of your coach? (See the tiny bus drawing above the gauges.) I believe it is a good idea, especially now that I am a grampa, I might be forgetful one day.

At work a while ago one of our small box trucks "made contact with" a hanging sign in a hotel forecourt  -  ironically the sign was to warn that the clearance was X feet, but the sign itself hung appreciably lower than that!   Doh!   So, we measured all our box trucks, buses and school buses and had signs made for them with their all-important Maximum Height clearly stated, then each sign was affixed inside in clear view of the driver.

As soon as my roof solar project is finished I will measure my overall height and make a sign, even though I'm the only one to drive my bus, and it's still a lot lower than most other buses.

Yes, a good thing to have on the dash. I have the weight in lbs and kg, and height in feet and meters. So I don't have to try to remember at a stressful moment.

Got the same kind of height picture on my 1991 Prevost dash. Doesn't count for all the aftermarket stuff up top. IE, satellite dome good for another couple feet!
