You can use the normally open switch by just a relocation of the switch fwiw

Plugged it so the bus will be drivable but then found the switch on Ebay for $20. including shipping.  I could not resist and bought it. If it only kept the brake lights on when the parking brake was engaged, I think I would just leave it plugged and forget it, but I like having the telltale, so I guess I will install the switch.

PP- You would not want the jumper wire since that would leave the brake lights on all the time.  It is a normally closed switch.

So much for my attempt at dry humor. :'(

PP- sorry for my density on that one.

Just passing this on in case anyone runs into the same problem, the Bendix part# 276185N is the right one.  It is just like the one that failed.

I was unable to decide to stick with the 1/4" plug to bypass the system as BK had suggested or go back to God's original design of the sacred 5a.  Choosing between BK and God is a rather tough decision.  So I decided to go with a compromise.  Since the valve is really just below the floor under the dash, I installed a toggle there so that the system can be used or bypassed at will.  If you think that this was a silly waste of a couple of feet of wire, I am not prepared to argue with you.  The real upside to this though is that I now have another toggle switch to be proud of.  Isn't that what it's really all about anyway?

We can all be proud of another toggle switch as long as you have a tell tale to go with it.  Otherwise, a switch is just a switch.

Check the floor mat if you have one.If the mat gets under the back of the brake pedal on my Previe ,it will hold it open enough to keep the brake lights on.Don,t know why these things are so sensitive but they are!!
