What's all that white stuff on the ground?   Is there something wrong?   I don't understand.   I've heard about rain apparently becoming white when it gets "cold", but I can't think how that could happen.   Strange.

Yes, it's a little nippy here today, the temperatures are plummeting down into the high-60s, so I'd better bundle up and put on my slightly thicker winter shorts and heavier T-shirt tomorrow.   It looks like it will be another grueling winter in Southern California if it stays this cold.
