Folks -

Question - will seats from a PD4905 match those in a PD4501?  Will they "work" in that they will line up and fit into the same holes, etc.?

Thanks very much,
Brad

Others may chime in, I am pretty sure the Scenics were one of a kind seats!

PD4905 seats are pedestal mount on a track up right post in center of the seat with a attach point on the wall side of the seat.
PD4501 seats have forward and aft legs on the aisle side of the seat and a attach point on the wall side of the seat.

I am curious about your question. I am always on the lookout for spare 4501 seats for a restoration I am doing. If you know of any, I would appreciate any leads. Thanks

Take care

If you know of the whereabouts of a PD4501 Scenicruiser - I would like to add the serial number to my registry of surviving Scenics.  www.tomsgarageonline.com

Hey Tom - Actually, I met up with Matt Pfahl at a truck show this past weekend and was chatting with him about his PD4501 restoration.  He said he knew of/knew you, not surprised!  I asked him what S/N he was working on, he couldn't remember.  The picture on his website is about three years old, the bus is getting pretty far along.

My next job is trying to find a home for those Beefalo seats, hopefully someone's got a PD41XX or PD49XX that's going in a museum or something like that.  The PD4106 OneLapper and I put in the museum had a full set.

Take care,

Brad,

Can you send me a pic or two of the seats?

I am planning on keeping 4 sets of mine, but......they are an awful gaudy red, and another color would be nice, especially if I didn't need to recover them!

Hey Brad

Matt Pfahl and I speak semi-regular. I am helping best I can to provide 4501 info regarding paint /interior colors, parts source, etc. He is working on PD4501-141. The bus used to belong to Audubon Trails Coach Lines of Evansville, IN. It went through something like 3 different shops (including Sam Walker) and no one accomplished anything but totally dismantling the bus. Now Matt is doing a first rate job. I know the bus owner fairly well too. Super nice guy. Very determined to get the bus finished. When it's done, it will be the nicest 4501 on the planet.

Take care

Steve - Actually, the NJ Transportation Heritage guys are probably going to take them; if that falls through I will check with you!

Tom - Yes, no doubt that bus will be spectacular when it's done; Matt does fine work.

Take care,
