Why are they forbidden?  Are they illegal or unfashionable? I wanted to put a swivel base on the front passenger seat.

I have adapted 1 to each of my Bostrum Low ride air seats. I got mine from a Van at a wreaking yard. Old 76 chevy short bed van.

Both pilot and copilot are swivel seats from the factory.

As to where to get them, I don't know. Driver seat is a truck air ride seat that we got new, and the other is Flexsteel that we got new.

Enjoy.

We have them up front and use the copilot one when parked since it turns to the table.  I really never turn the driver's though.  I doubt that they are nationally illegal, but I suppose an individual state could have such a law.

I have on occasion thought about making mine swivel but given that it would have to both swivel and rise up a foot or so it always seems like more bother than it is worth.

I have a swivel air ride but it only swivels far enough to hit the shifter, but it does make it easier to get in and out of. fwiw.>>>>>>>> John.

I have an RV style swivel base but in my opinion it isn't strong enough for me, and I'm not small but not the biggest cat at 230 lbs.  It flexed a lot and the swivel plate actually bent and I had to add in additional bracing (so now it's a welded up ex-swivel base, if you know what I mean).  On the long list of things to fix that I will probably cross the last thing off of on the day I die...
