Hello fellow busnuts,

I (Gigi) am going a bit nutty trying to figure out how to embed YouTube videos.  When I input the suggested code from Youtube's embed box, my post here on busconversions's forum shows exactly that code's text and not a playable video.

Example ....

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/YN1BFsbTGYg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Does anyone know how I can embed my video in my posts?

Thanks in advance!

With the video pulled up on YouTube, click the share button, click options, click the "Long Link" button.  Copy that.

Go to the post here that you want to make and paste it where you want it to appear in the post.  For example, posting this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-oDw2iVcTk

Will place it like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-oDw2iVcTk#

One shortcut is to click the address in the address bar of the browser for the YouTube video and copy that.  But review and edit it as needed to begin with http not https and remove other data in the address such as "&feature=related".  For example:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-oDw2iVcTk&feature=related

would become

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-oDw2iVcTk

To display the video you see above.

When we try it, the same video posts  twice: one large version and one smaller version right under it.  How do we prevent that and have each video post only once?  Thanks!

Hi Michael,

I have also had luck posting vids from you-tube by copy/paste the web address

and then paste it to your reply on BCM.

There appears to be a glitch developed in the system.  Phil recently announced that a new version of the forum software is currently being tested and the forum will be updated to that soon.  This should resolve some of the quirks noticed lately.
