primus heater

I bought my bus a few years ago,68 5a.It came with a primus heating system,which is still brand new and never installed.I have all the pumps, controls and even a heat exchanger with it. I am wondering if it worth investing time and effort on installing it,or is there simpler systems for heating my bus.I do early spring and fall camping in New England, but no winter.I removed the baseboard already when I started redoing my conversion.

Where are you in New England ?

Mike:  The wanderlodge forum has a fair amount of information on the primus.  They were standard heating units in some of the Birds.

That is a good system I had one in the Eagle cheap to run just be sure to use the right regulator lol or they will burn propane is yours a 2 boiler or 1 boiler system,they will do everything a Aquahot does only cheaper on fuel .

New they were about the same price as the AquaHot I have a new spare exchanger if you need or want one

I have wanderlodge SP36 which has the primus heating system in it. The system is a swedish product and an orphaned system here in the states. It works pretty nice if it is working, but once it breaks, you will have trouble to get it fixed again. A lot of Blue-Birders installed a Webasto Heating system in the Primus set-up and since you plan on installing the system yourself anyhow, I would consider the webasto heat unit and take it from there. There is a lot of stuff to learn about the heating system. Study everything you can first and the decide.

Mike, those units are not orphans they were bought out by Alde some of the new Southwinds have the system a real popular unit in the UK and gaining here again
