stainless vs. paint

I have a 1973 MCI 7 which is stainless.  It was polished very well when I bought it 5 years ago and it still looks like it was just polished.  I would not trade for a smoth side painted one.  I love it.  Just my opinion and my likes. 
I also don't have to worry about paint chips on the front and o yea the bugs are easy to get off.
As is often said, DO IT YOUR WAY.
