Thanks so much for all your good wishes. I have reached 55! Wow! They say it is the age when the parts of your body that don't hurt no longer work.

;D

So today, first thing in the morning, I started my celebration with a visit to the dentist, which ended up being a root canal!  So much fun! My dentist said, "So sorry I had to torture you on your birthday!" I said, "Not only that: You CHARGED me for torturing me!"

But being this is Mexico, the total bill was all of 1,100 pesos (approx. $96 U.S.)

Then I spent a few hours next to my ailing mother's bedside. I asked her if she remembered what happened 55 years ago. She is unable to speak, and just pointed to me and then squeezed my hand. It was special.

By that time, the four Novocaine shots had worn off, and my dear wife, lovely children and most adorable grand babies were ready to take me out for lunch. Overall, a great day!

Wow! What a day you had! A root canal? Really? Today? Only $96.00?  :o

But the one that brought a tear to my eye was about your mother  ;) Thank you for sharing
