I have a MCI 102 A3
I want to replace all my clearance fixtures.  Who is a good source?  Do I need to go to MCI or is there a less expensive aftermarket alternative?

I think I've ruled out LED, at least there seems to be a consensus that they fail prematurely.

I recently ordered marker light lens from MCI, and they were cheap.  I don't know how their price on fixtures would be.  You could try Mohawk Industries also.
You don't have to believe everything you think.

Check out MCI first. Their prices aren't that bad on some parts.

I got some very nice looking marker lights for my 4104 from aberning@midwestbusparts.com.

They are Model Signal-Stat 1350A for around $20 each.

They may even be available from an auto parts store because they are for Ford Trucks.

Dave,

When I stripped my 102a3 to begin the conversion I put all of the marker lights in a box, marked the box and placed in a location with the other components so that I would know exactly where they were.

Well, guess what? I could not find that box anywhere. I looked for days for the box of lights but could not find them.

I contacted MCI and the replacements were $34 each, plus shipping.

I found a company in Chicago,

Mohawk Mfg. and Supply Co.
1.800.323.7652
Contact: Otto @ extension 204

This guy is super. Very nice knowledgeable fellow and I would recommend this company as a first place to check on bus parts.

He sold me the same lights - MCI part #7R-7-98 & 7R-7-105, complete assemblies for $12 each.

The day I called him he had 116 of the amber and 124 of the red on hand.

I'd call Otto, and hang on to his number for the next bus parts you might be looking for.

Good Luck,

Doug

WOW!   Thanks!
I googled Mohawk about a dozen different ways and only came up with carpet suppliers.  Having real contact information is a big help.

I'll be in touch with him this week.  That's Exactly what I needed.

Dave

PS.... Did you ever find your box?    usually I find my stuff the day after I order new.

If you really want LED call Setra N. A @ 800-882-8054 and ask for parts.

Tell them your looking for the 24V LED replacements for a "200" series coach.
I have converted over 3 Setra's and 2 MCI's with these lights and not had any failures in 4 or 5 yrs now!
They cost $25 ea and with them lasting 4-5 yrs in commercial use they'll most likely last you forever which is pretty good compared to $2 a bulb and replacing the bulbs about 2-3 times a yr.
