How does furnace connection on Dometic A/C units work?

I have a pair of Dometic Penguin 15K BTU rooftop A/C units with the analog thermostat connections.  The thermostat connections include a heat connection from the thermostat.

There is a pair of wires coming off the Penguin to control a furnace.  Does anyone know if this is simply a on/off type of connection or what it is?  Could I use the two wires to control a relay for my furnace.  The Dometic manual doesn't really say how the furnace connection works.

Any chance the wires are to control the optional heat strips in the Penguin?

I don't think they are for the heat strip since they are in the low voltage bundle of wires and are labeled "to furnace" specifically.  I would think the heat strip connections would be internal.   They are not the connection from the thermostat to the A/C unit.

I suspect the connection is normally open and goes to closed when the furnace is called for, but I really don't know for sure.

Iam running 2 dometic 15,000s but not the penguins with the comfort control thermostat and the furnace thermostat wires went to the front ac and is controlled by the comfort control and every thing gets controled from one thermostat. I also have a sensor in the rear bedroom to set it at a different temp. The heat strips are internaly pre wired. Jason

On my prevous RV my front A/C had a control board that interfaced the three A/Cs with the Hydro Hot. When the board went bad I had no heat, the A/Cs still functioned as normal...

I learned from posting over on RV.net that this is a simple relay that can handle 3 amps.  I think it will do exactly what I am looking to do.  I want to use this connection to turn on/off my Proheat for that zone.  I am using a relay on the Proheat side so I don't need much amperage.
