I am greatly touched by all the wonderful sentiments posted here.  The love and support of friends really helps in this painful time.

I would like to share one amazing blessing I observed in this.  When Mom passed, it was raining.  Just as the funeral home came to pick her up, the rain stopped long enough for them to take her.  Just as they pulled away the rain started again.

I was with my Mom when she died.

I wasnt, and I pain over that every time I think of it. I do not want Dad to go, but go he must, someday. I pray I am there.

Hi yo silver

Mike,
I haven't met you yet, but the level of support that has been offered here says a lot about you.  I liked your story about the rain. Reminds me of the October day when I lost my beloved grandma. I had thirty hybrid tea rose bushes in my back yard, including one bush Grandma had started for me years earlier. When I looked out my kitchen window after coming home from her service, there was one red bloom among the thirty one bushes. It was on her bush. We share your grief during the loss of your beautiful mom.

Mike:

I join the many here to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time in your life.

This journey we call "living" is so brief.

I will leave you with a line that the priest finished with, at my wife's funeral, which is appropriate for areas that have a winter season.

"We have Memories so that there may be Roses in December".

Mike, there is something special about a mother's love but also about a loving son, which you evidently were to her.  She went on to God's special place knowing how much you loved and cared for her.  You are a special person.  I wish you the best during this very trying time in your life.

Mike:

I have not yet had the privelege of meeting you, my friend. My heart goes out to you.

I am in a situation with my own parents' failing health, and it has been a very difficult yet special time to us. They arrived in Mexico as missionaries in December of 1956. Yes, I was with them: a six-month-old baby.

May the God of all peace and the Comforter (the Holy Spirit) be with you and restore you, my friend.

Sincerely:

when our mom passed  we had a small funereal, when we wheeled her out to the Mausoleum the wheel fell off the casket carrier twice. then when we slid her into the crypt the cover [it was snowing] got stuck and we had to pull her out again. seems mom was not ready to go yet. she was a wonderful person that i also took care of for 10 years.

Mike, I know your pain. I will pray. For you and for your mom.
