GM Buses in Eagle land

I have 2 GM buses in for repairs a 4106 for Jakes and a 4905A for a dropped valve I had no idea GM bus conversions could be so sharp with a conversion these 2 are nice the 4107 has a turboed 8v71 a very neat install on that bus.
The reason for this post is everyone has told me over the years how easy a GM was to work on do I have news for you guys they are PITA one side is easy but the bulkhead side is a bitch seems like it would be easier to remove the engine which I may do.
I think the 4104 with 6-71 is easy but not the 8v71 stuffed in there no way lol

Gm's are like volkswagons.  remove the engine first,then work on them

About figured that out Ned but I am going to install the Jakes without removing the engine I HOPE Lol

Good luck   On my modified 04. I cut a hole under the bed to get to my back head.

Made the mistake of putting the cover in from the outside.
Still can't get to the back so just pull the engine.

never said I was smart just persistent.

Give me the sidewinder GMs anytime over the "T" drives, the bulkhead side is easily accessable by removing the plenum chamber and inlet tube from the blower and air induction box respectfully.  Using a 90* degree air ratchet speeds the job greatly, then everything can be reached across the engine WIDTH.  The only PITA part would be the forward side exhaust manifold if the head had to be removed, and even that is only "clamped" on the head, the mount bolts do not have to be removed. After removing the plenum the blower MUST be covered to prevent ingestion of unwanted parts, other wise its an easy reach to access the valve area. On the "T" drives it seems everything you need to get at is at the rear of the engine necessitating a reach across the LENGTH of the engine and accessories....>>>Dan
