Jakes on a L 10 Cummins Again

I am really confused here you L10 guys trying to round up parts and talking with my friend at Southern Plains Cummins seems like only very few of the L10 mechanical engines had Jakes the engine has to have the right rods (or they break) then you need the spacer blocks from a M 11 engine,they were made for the E engine but it seems like you have to piece a set together for a older model L 10 has anyone done that

I don't know how most of the engine bays are set up but mine will not take an L10 that has jakes because the engine is too tall to fit. I looked at a couple different engines when  I had mine out and it was easier to just put it back instead of switch

Hello:    Yes you are right the older l10s has a jake brake setup and I have part of it so I did not install it on my engine.  ( i corrected my post as I misled you into thinking jakes are on my engine) However Melbo hit the other key point the valve box is taller and in our installations (Melbos and mike lutestanskis' we are using 89 or early L10s which have the shorter height and will slide into the existing space nicely.
    Somewhere around 90 or 91 the L10 was improved and the rocker assemblies were made taller and and and other improvements  (low flow vs high flow) ?    ALso the engines went electronic somewhere in that time period
    THe newer engnes will not fit into the mcis unless the back area by the rear seat has a cutout installed ..
   I was planning on the cutout as my buddy Denny Henniger in idaho  (Big cam 4 in his mci 7) had to do that to get his engine in place.  I was surprised that when I completed the measurements my engine set just shoehorned under the lip of the edge. 
    To allow for the changing of the retarder oil fittings (back of tranny) I cut out a piece of the axle drop tube and rebuilt it with half inch plate.
