I just did a search for Good Sam's and found lots of reasons to get into Good Sam's for Emergencies.

I would like to know what kind of Parts and accessories discounts you all have run accost.

Being in the building stage I am always looking for a good deal on parts. ;D

Absolutely nothing Good Sam (or any other Affinity Group company, for that matter) gives you is worth the unending and unstoppable flow of junk mail that you will get from them, IMO.  The spam marketing extends to your email address as well, and Affinity has even paid someone in Pakistan to spam my blog.  If you ever have to give them an email address, open a Hotmail or Yahoo account just for them.

It took us five years to finally get off every junk-mail marketing list they put us on after we signed up for a year.  And we pay to have every piece of mail forwarded, so this was non-trivial -- I am quite certain that what we paid for their junk mail wiped out any "discounts" we got by being members.  In two years of having a valid membership number, we used the RV park discount three times.  And we have since found that most parks that offer a Good Sam discount also offer the same discount for FMCA or even AAA, two organizations we belong to who are much more respectful of our privacy and mail preferences.

JMO and YMMV.  FWIW.

Good Sam ERS and the Good Sam Club are two seperate entities.  I'm not sure if you can get Good Sam ERS without being a Good Sam Club member or not.  I had Camping World Roadcare for a year which is essentially the same as Good Sam ERS.  Camping World and Good Sam Cllub are owned by the same company.

Good Sam can get your some camping discounts, but I am not aware of discounts on parts.

Good Sam has commercial members that do give 10% off on the overpriced RV parts we have a Napa,RV parts store and a tire store here that gives a discount to Good Sam members not worth being a member of Good Sams to me

I have their ERS, but I'm not a member of the club.   I think if you're a club member you get a slight discount on ERS, but as Sean said the less you have to deal with them the better.

Curiously, I got the ERS renewal notice in January, but it doesn't expire until mid-May!   They won't get my money until it's due!

A 10% discount on parts can probably be beat by a busnut who spends a little time shopping for the best price.

I'm a well satisfied member of both and have never had an email from either of them. I don't know how the ERS could be any better  for me than it has been the past six years.

However, the junk mail is nonstop but it goes directly to the wastebasket.

Thanks to all for the input.  I got a Temp Good Sam's card in the mail - They must be looking at the forum boards I have never solicited any contact from them.    I think I will look at other emergency roadside assistance programs and let the Good Sam's to them self's.

IMO, Coachnet is the best service provider. My policy covers all three of my vintage buses as well as personal vehicles. Like Sean, my one experience with Good Sam is like the gift that keeps on giving; how do you shut it off?

Good Sam ERS covers all your personal vehicles.

First time I ever used it was for my wife's car.

I have no complaints about Good Sam ERS, they have treated me very well. The junk mail I can live with, easy to toss it.
