Hey Matt, Take a look in the owners manuel it will most likely tell you what you need to know.Look under towing or four wheel towing.

Are you still going to try and make that rally north of you ?

Matt, shut it off in N and turn the key back as far as it will go. ;) Are your lights fed off the bus? Don't know much about your set up. :)

We towed our envoy 4 down and once it is in neutral turn the key so the wheel is unlocked then if we were going any distance I would disconect the battery or it would be drained by all the dash lights and accesories when the key is on, Remeber to have a extra key if you lock the doors since your remote button won't work with no battery hooked up and you need in to pop the hood to hook the battery up. Do you have a base plate hitch? I have the blueox base plate off of our envoy that Iam going to sell since we got a new car. Jason

Matt,
You said that you got it. We tow an '03 Trailblazer 4X4 four wheel down for many a mile.
There was a fellow in a park that we stayed in that had been towing an Envoy that came over and ask 'What fuse I pulled to tow 4 wheels down to keep my batteries up' He was confused and had been driving with his ignition switch on and killing his battery. We tried what I described below and his Envoy worked the same as our Trailblazer. He was thrilled.
I find that besides what it says in the manual you have to have all doors closed.
Be careful also. I switch it into neutral only after I've hooked to the coach and switch it out while I'm still hooked so there isn't a run away.
Put your foot on the brake and make an application
Start the engine
Put the transmission in 'N' for neutral
Rotate the transfer case selector switch on the dash to neutral by rotating it clockwise as far as it will go and holding it there until the indicator light goes out. There is a neutral indicator light but in ours you can't hardly see it. It takes 10 seconds or so for it to go into neutral. You can also hear it sometimes when it shifts.
Release the dash switch and check that the transfer case is in neutral by placing the transmission selector in drive. It shouldn't engage
Place the transmission in Park. It might grind a little. An other indication the transfer case is in neutral
Shut off the engine
Remove the key and try turning the steering wheel. As long as the transfer case is in neutral, the computer will keep the steering column unlocked. Pretty Cool.
This has ruined me for towing any other car four wheels down because I wan't to put the keys in my pocket. Hope that this helps. Also when you go to put the transfer case back in gear. I do that before I start the engine and it doesn't engage as hard as it does with the engine running. Again, the transmission has to be on neutral before it will shift the transfer case back into gear.

Hope that this helps

Hi yo silver

Matt,
You obviously don't understand how this board works...we don't CARE if you have figured it out. We are gonna take your question, beat it to death, body-slam it, and twist it a few times until it's smokin'! That's what makes us feel umportant and needed.
I tussled with the same question on my Silverado. The book says to pull the "ignition" fuse. Battery still drained after towing all day. Felt real smug after I picked up a little solar panel that plugs into the cigarette lighter. Told the wife, "I outsmarted it this time. The solar panel will keep the battery charged."  Note to self...unplug it at night, moon is not as bright as the sun. Drained it back down. LOL
I have found a battery disconnect that works on side post batteries in a catalog that Bob Glines gave me, and I'm gonna buy one of these suckers, THEN lets see that battery go dead.
I would go into how the last time I found it dead was when I had made a wrong turn winding my way into a fuel stop and tieing up a McDonalds entrance but that's another story...LOL
