That depends on what you need.  If you are talking about free overnight spots, yes, and I can point you to some if you can be more specific about where you need to be (101 is 1,000 miles long).  If you are talking about a place to park for a few days while you see the sights, that's a different story and those spots are much more limited.

Lots of the free spots we've stayed are listed on our blog, however there is no directory for them.  If you go to the blog and select "California" in the topics pull-down you will get all our CA sites, and you can browse through them looking for spots on your route.

What are you looking to do?

If you want a free view of the ocean, good luck.  If you just want a place to spend the night within reasonable distance of highway 101 then check Sean's weblog.  That said there's lots of places to stop for lunch that you might get away with spending the night in if you don't mind the risk of a midnight roust.  I always have a beer as soon as we get stopped.  I figure if we get rousted I'll breath on them and ask if they really want me on the road.

YMMV.

Well, the trouble with free parking spots is that they are often fleeting.  What works today may not work in three years, and there will be yet a new set of spots that open up as new roads are built, old developments razed, etc.

After seven years on the road, we have become experts at ferreting out overnight spots where we can get away with a single night without being hassled.  In seven years we have been asked to move along only twice.  We do post all of our "secret" spots on the blog, complete with highly accurate map links, but we don't announce or post them elsewhere, because we know if too many people start using them they will get shut down, as so many have in the past.

When you are ready to hit 101, give me a shout and I can give you some pointers.
