I think that auto reset breakers should always be used on safety systems like headlights and brakes.  It may just give you a better margin of safety and time to pull over and fix the problem.

The main electrical panel up front in my bus has an LED next to every fuse.  If the fuse is good the LED is on.  It is easy to find the bad fuse.  My bus uses fuses up front, but all of the bigger stuff in the rear above the battery compartment is mostly breakers.
