Leaking real seal

Without going into all the details of what has been done, all of it has. Does anyone know of a seal that goes into the axle tube that the axle goes through
that blocks off the rear end fluid from reaching the bearings. Then you pack the bearings with grease.Some where I heard of a seal to do this.
This is on an Eagle 05 and other than replacing the rear end it has been done and after the trip to Jack's and back still leaking.
any info on supplier would be greatly appreciated

Some axles are built that way. The end the axle tube (outside the threads) is set up with a seal surface. My Cityliner has a Rockwell axle that has that set up.

Hi Ed, I converted a 4106 from oil bath to grease last year and Luke at US Coach had all the parts to do it correctly.

Have you replaced the Axle Shaft itself? maybe it is slightly bent or untrue

Chris, Thanks I will give Luke a call I know he is a Gm man more than Eagle but he might be able to help.

Axle I don't think is problem. I have run the bus in gear at high idle with wheels and drum off, and hub turns true no run-out.

Ed, you do not want to convert that drop box rear end to grease that is all part of the cooling process,you do know that the spinning type seal takes a special tool to install it some guys get a way with driving one in with a hammer I was never that lucky

Clifford, I have the special drive tool that fits the seal. What I was wanting to do is only stop the rear end fluid from getting to the drivers side hub and pack those bearings.As you know I have tried almost everything it just keeps on kicking my assssss !!!!!!!!
Any more thoughts ? Wear sleeve slowed it up haven't pulled it apart yet to see if it moved on the spindle.

Did you replace the wear sleeve AND seal at the same time? Did you oil the seal surface before installing? Is the axle nut tight enough? Did you check the hub for cracks in the seal area? Are you using the right weight oil?

They were very reasonable when they came out and cut the end of the axle tube off one of our buses and installed a new for us this past yr!
