Journey One has a beautiful 1988 prevost with a 50amp power cord The site has only 30amp. She has a Heart Inverter LR48907. She was told she cant plug into 30amps. Any body know for sure. We were going to get her an adaptor but she is concerned.   Any experts on line to help?

Plugging into 30 amps with a 50 amp cord is no issue at all, ****IF**** you use a very common RV adapter.  That adapter is available at any RV store.  It combines the two legs of the 50 amp cord so that you have 120 Volts to each leg of the RV.

Unless the inverter wants 220 volts on the input, that adaptor should work.  Just don't draw more than 30 amps total.

OK, after I posted, I realized that there are a ton of adapters.  The one you want is shown here http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/30-amp-male-to-50-amp-female-adapter-with-handle/48857  There are also "cheater" adapters where folks try to use two outlets in the box 30A/15A/ or two 15A to get more current.  There can be some wiring issues there not worth going into here.

Brian, I am not aware of any inverter that has to have 220V.  Having said that, I would be someone will prove me wrong ;D

If that is one of the few Country Coach Prevost that had the set up you cannot use 30 amps, other converters could have used the same I have no idea, most of the County Coaches went back to factory and a 30 amp plug was added at least they were on the Eagles

good luck

I tried to google search the part number on that inverter and got nowhere.  Almost all inverters could be had with 220 volt model options for Europe, but totally agree would be an odd-ball this side of the pond.

Viv is up and running. Batteries are charging and her A/C is humming.

Thanks to all.

We just got her a 50amp to 30amp adaptor and plugged it in. She allowed john and I to look around in her bus and we found the inverter. It only has a 110v input.
