That 72 series engine will be a tough one to find. I'm thinking you mean the 92 series.

$7K is slim findings.   When you get into the $15 to 20K range things open up.

You mentioned smaller home>>does that mean that you want to live in the bus?

$7K might get you a bus, but not a completed conversion. If you find one at that price, inspect it carefully, it likely has serious issues.

you or others may be interested in this. I looked at a 4104 that has been sitting a while, but supposedly has a fresh engine. It's a manual trans though. It is at least partly converted with a generator, awning, rear bed, full bathtub, back up camera, CB, couple of roof top AC's, kitchen sink/fridge/stove/etc. All the bay doors need the rubber hinges replaced, and naturally the tires. Who knows what else. It's worth the asking price just for all the parts. $4,000 I think is what he wants. Contact Talmedge Lewis, at Lewis bus in Augusta Ga. Sorry don't know the number off hand, but he's got a website.

I have a 40 foot PD4903, NOT converted (seats out, floor redone, insulated shell walls) with 8V71 and manual trans at $3000 in California.  It needs tires, windshield and TLC.

Figuring that price range, I wouldn't hold my breath to find a completed conversion with auto trans and Jake brake for just a little over double what a longer shell that needs tires and glass is going for.

Check out  craiglook.com/all.html?q=bus+conversion    and if you have the time come to the rally at rickreall this week. There are usually at least 4-5 buses for sale, sometimes more.  Stop by and say hi, blue 68 5A....i am from Duvall originally. ;D
Used to own a 1968 MCI 5A and a 1977 5C.

If time is not an issue you can find what you want for the price you are looking for. There have been several examples that have been posted here in the months past. I am seeing some great bargins out there. I second the use of Craiglook. A great tool indeed.

Take a look a the CL for Wash / Ore areas. I saw a clean looking 5C for about or less than $7,000.
My wife has been on my case to go out & buy it, Drive it 3,000 miles and park it next to ours for spares, parts engine etc.....Not really, but

That might be the ticket, was not converted, so there may be better deals out there.
