Another couple of Ebay finds

I don't tend to trawl through Ebay listings now I've got a bus, but was prompted to do so just now by another thread. Here are a couple of interesting items on UK Ebay at the moment:

This is a half-converted double-decker coach - actually it's the double-decker version of my own bus, but on a Daf rather than a Bedford chassis. I've always wanted to know how practical a double-decker motorhome would be (whether there'd be enough headroom etc), so would love to have an excuse to go see this bus. I'll be interested to see what it sells for too - I suspect it might be a huge bargain.

Probably a top-of-the-range coach when it was new, and really pretty in my opinion. And this one must have a strange story behind to have never been used.

That Ford bus will likely require replacement of just about every rubber part if someone wanted to actually run it and not park it in a collection somewhere.  It is a cool looking bus.

   With the steering wheel on the wrong side, I would probably end up driving on the wrong side of the road  LOL!
   When we were in Grand Cayman many years ago, we rented a car that had been imported from the USA and they drive on the "wrong" side of the road. It was not bad driving on a straightaway, but every time I turned a corner, it was a natural reflex to head into the right lane. Thankfully, Paula would yell and get my attention (and get me back into the left lane).  Jack

Well, that's entirely subjective of course - but it's a no reserve auction for a project that most people would be scared to death to take on. The current bid is equivalent to a fraction over $2,500 - I've got a feeling that whoever wins the auction is going to get an awful lot of bus for the money.

Edit to explain the 'scared to death' part - in the UK most people would consider the idea of converting a bus into a motorhome to be a deeply strange thing that only a deeply strange person would do - there is simply no 'bus conversion' hobby or community here (other than a few hippies), and certainly no bus conversion parts industry, and no bus conversion provision at campgrounds etc. Add to that the fact that the size and weight of this particular bus will magnify all the usual problems, I don't see very many people being willing to take on such a project - but that is not to say that there won't be people will be bidding on it who don't have any idea about what they are buying, with the result that it appears for sale on Ebay again in a couple of months time.

Yep, it sold for less than $3,200. At that price I'm just glad I don't have space for another one.
