I have tried the Internet with no luck. Looking at a 1978 MCI 5C without engine and trans for less than scrap price.
Any idea of possible weight of unit? I need to get it towed if I buy it and need to know what size truck required to haul it.
I checked and there are no Landolls in immediate area.
Thanks...Tim  ??? ???

a big twin axle tow truck will do the job. Get one with a wheel snatcher and pull the axles.

where are you towing from?

Ed Hackenbruch

Figure the engine and tranny were probably close to 4000 lbs.
Used to own a 1968 MCI 5A and a 1977 5C.

I was figuring around 20K lbs as it has been stripped. Can't find a tandem tow truck in immediate area so may
have to check further away for one. It is in Penticton, BC and I need to move it about 40 miles southwest.
Thanks for the responses....Tim

There should be a provincial towing association you could access to find something as close as possible.

Should be an easy tow since the engine/transmission are not in it you won't have to pull the axle shafts or the drive shaft-just hook up, attach lights and air lines and go!  A normal axle lift tow truck should do (you might be able to get by with a 2 axle heavy duty tow).  Good Luck, TomC
