MTU created a new Web site dedicated to the hundreds of thousands of Detroit Diesel 2-cycle engines still in operation.

With the new 2-cycle microsite, www.2-cycle.mtu-online.com, MTU hopes to both educate customers and give them a forum for sharing their stories. The Web site is organized into four sections:

The About section provides company facts, a company profile and historical information that details the relationship between Detroit Diesel and MTU and how the Detroit Diesel 2-cycle product line is now fully supported by MTU.

The Products section includes information about 2-cycle parts, engines, maintenance products and service tips. It also showcases current promotions.

The Stories section features real-world articles about Detroit Diesel 2-cycle customers and their varied applications. Customers are encouraged to submit their own recollections and story ideas about their engines.

The Contact section provides contact information for MTU's distributor organization and gives customers the opportunity to sign up for future e-mail updates and promotions.

"It's our intention to post all the 2-cycle information our customers could possibly need right here," said Peter Knoop, marketing manager for MTU, in a statement. "We want it to be engaging but, even more importantly, we want it to be a means of connecting customers with genuine Detroit Diesel 2-cycle parts, maintenance products, service and advice that is available only through our authorized distributors."

Well no longer a bus nut, but over the years I learned a lot here and still come back to see what I can apply to the conversion of my KW T2000 for hauling my Teton fifth wheeler.
