naming our bus

First of all I don't know if I should call it a "bus", is that considered rude, is "coach" a classier term, or Motor Coach?

Anyway, thinking of calling her 'Miss Jones" after the classic jazz tune - lyrics really fit:

And then I said, miss jones, youre a girl who understands

Depends on who you're talking to. If you're talking to DMV, it's an RV. Everyone else, it's a bus.

It also might depend on how nice it is.  Ours is a bus! Maybe someday it'll be a coach but that's a long ways away.

If I am talking to non-busnut people, I refer to ours as our Coach. If I say bus, they seem think of either a school bus or a hippie bus.  If I am caling a campground to make reservations it is a 40' motorhome or 40' coach.  Jack

If I meet someone out and about and I know we're all going to the same place and they're going to see it, I refer to it as our bus and then watch their expression when they see it. Until that point there is no doubt that they're envisioning a 'Schoolie'. About the only time I don't refer to it as a bus is when dealing with DMV and the Insurance carrier LOL, FWIW, Will & Wife

I call mine a big hippie van.

We named ours "Daddy's Hobby" and that sort of stuck to it. 

First time around it was "Loose Change" and even had one called "Sweet Marie" at one time. 

Recently a friend of mine said, "this bus thing?  What type of bus is it?" so I said, "Big bus, really big."  He said "How big?" and I said, "forty feet big."  Then he said, "You mean like the Oak Ridge Boys?"  Which I interupted to be a generational thing, and I said yeah, "Like you know man, Rock Star Big" and then the waitress brought us our order.

I call mine a bus when talking to other bus owners or busnuts .  Otherwise it's a 40' bus-motorhome or 40' motorhome when dealing with dmv.  My wife and kids have put together a long list of names for our bus but it's still nameless.  Like the bus, it's a work in progress.

Thanks Tom we have several things going on right now, floor improvements, seating, new dinnett all kinds of things, stop by any time and take a look at it.  I drop stuff in there every now and then and I also put up bus related or travel stories there.  I also write another site, www.boxcarOkie.com and it runs the gauntlet of life in America.  It just went over 1.1 million visitors yesterday and it is only 14 months old.

Hey Brian. That is a great R&B classic. I recorded it on my 1st album. Christi and I named our MCI 102a3 MRS. Jones for that reason and I was spending more time with her then her. We named our Eagle Dreamscape! I just liked the sound of it, it came from my desire to see this country when I dreamed of owning a coach/bus/motorhome when I was young!

Our blog/website says it all......."Dreamscape Eagle"!

Mine is "Little GTO" from the Robin Williams movie RV. I am planning on etching the front destination sign window with lettering to spell out Little GTO.
