Years ago I was racing dirt track stock cars and had an old 67 Chevy pickup with a 327 I threw together for a tow rig. The following year I traded the 327 for a Olds 455 with a Turbo 400 tranny and transplanted it into the truck. What a difference!! The next year I rebuilt the 455 with forged pistons, ARP rod bolts, rv cam, headers, had it balanced and threw on an Offie intake with a Holley and put 3.00 gears in the rear. What a torque monster. Those 455's had a lot of stroke that made torque. But judging by the length and quality of the rods they weren't intended for rpm. But for pulling an rv they had a lot more balls than the 413's, 440's or 454's.  Later

I really don't know much about the 455 but I know the 403 I have does have enough torque to spin the tires on the revcon, I have to be careful leaving stop signs cause I have spun them in the past, my concern would be in tearing the tires off the rims.
