Folks,
I am posting this for a friend who has a seated 102C3 (Charter Coach) with a Cat engine at idle the coach has heat.
But when the coach is on the highway it has no heat. :'(
Any of you bus folks have a clue to what the problem might be. ???
Perhaps BK might have a idea! ;D
Thanks any input would be welcome. ::)

I had the same problem a few years back, coolant was low, topped it off and down the road we go!

Hey Steve,

I just had saw your post above, and had to laugh at your tag line....

I suspect you may want to correct the spelling in the url.   ::)

Not sure about that engine, but a bad thermostat could do it on some engines.  At idle, the coolant might heat up a bit, but if the weather is cold and the thermostat stays open, the coolant could get real cool to.  This was the first mechanical problem I had on my 1956 Oldsmobile when we bought it in 1964.  It's funny that owning an 8 year old car is nothing now.  Back then, it was rather extreme.

The first thing I would suspect is that the thermostat(s) is (are) stuck open.  Try replacing it (them) and see if that fixes it.
