Insurance

We are looking for insurance providers. Right now we have state farm for $900 a year. The down side is, on a Honda Civic, which has to be on the same plan, we are paying $1100 a year (over double than when we were with USAA, but that was before the bus). We would like to switch the Civic back to USAA, for the better rates, if we could find a good price on the RV insurance. We have liked state farm, but I don't like the rates. I also think the rates are a little backwards. The bus is many times more expensive than the late model civic.

Motorhomes have always been relatively inexpensive to insure when the cost of the motorhome is taken into consideration.

Motorhomes are often driven less miles than cars and are often driven on less congested roads during less congested times of day.

I just renewed the Eagle for another year with Progressive.  $50,000 value $1,000,000 Liability and $1,000,000 uninsured motorist. I have not read the small print but it is $556 for 12 months.

Try AllState I have been doing searches  for the best policy vs cost and AllState seems to be the best. They have a new RV policy that covers every thing including contents for theft which a lot don't. Peabody

Have you tried Progressive Direct? We have $250,000/ $500,000 liability only coverage on our GM4106 for $30 every 6 months. No, that is not a typo. We self insure for the rest of the coverage that most people pay dearly for. Everyone is not prepared to do that, but it works for us. We have two cars on the same policy and we get several discounts including: driver safety courses, muli-car, accident and violation free, and residence insurance. We also get a discount for paying in full at renewal time, instead of paying monthly. Be sure to ask for any discounts you may qualify for.
I think one reason RV insurance is so inexpensive is that most of them don't get driven too much. We used ours for three weekend rallies and one two week trip this year. The rest of the time it sat in our shop. We hope that changes after my wife retires next spring, if fuel is still affordable.

USAA will insure your motorhome. They took my 4104, no questions or photos. I have about five other vehicles with them and have had USAA for over fifty years.

I never used the word "bus", motorhome is the key.

Interestingly enough they won't insure my antique trucks larger than one ton?

If you have a good driving record and have a couple of vehicles insured with them you should haveI no problem.

Gus, USAA didn't want to insure our bus. They said that they didn't do that anymore...?!?!?
