Title: How to remove ceiling panels in MCI MC7?
Post by: oldmansax on October 23, 2008, 07:26:56 PM
How do I remove the original ceiling panels in my MC7? I know I will have to take down the center aluminum strip. Do the chrome connectors just pop off? There appears to be some type on locking mechanism in a hole in each panel. How does that work? I can see threads when I remove the cover. I need to take a couple of them down to install some wiring & I thought I might install some additional insulation at the same time if that is possible.

Thanks, TOM

I don't know what the locking mechanisms are, but the stainless steel strips are a snap on cover for a steel strap that is screwed to the roof rail.  It comes off easily.  Could the mechanisms you refer to be part of the baggage racks?

I hadn't thought about the old luggage racks. I think you are right!

I will take the chrome covers off & see what it looks like from there.

THANKS!
