hi guys can you tell me , i want to remote mount my turbo but the location will have the right pipe longer than the left pipe , is that ok?
Yes- On my V drive I have the turbo mounted above the right valve cover so the left bank has a rather long run. Try to heat wrap the exhaust pipe to the turbo. I know it takes a couple of miles before mine warms up enough to stop smoking-but it does work. Good Luck, TomC
Old stuff here again, but do try to mount your turbo as close to the exhaust ports as possible. The closer the better. That's how turbos work best.
Yes also again. If your exhaust port to turbo pipe is going to be any length at all, you should heat-wrap it for all you can. Will make a big difference.
Are you going to run an intercooler or charge air cooler? If you are not redoing the Detroit completely inside for a high boost turbo, lots of times you,
Can compensate by running a large intercooler. Air to air comes to mind first, (personal opinion) followed by air to water. Don't know if you have room though.
Old info. If others have already detailed out for you your best bet and course of action, then disregard that man behind the curtain. Best of luck. :) :) :)
with being a mci 5a its already tight, so only the turbo for now, have to find room for the new air cleaner also, and the extra piping, thanks for the info, ken
