Title: 12 volt & 24 volt switch ?
Post by: jmblake on October 19, 2008, 03:27:04 PM
Hi guys
I have some switch's that say 20 amp at 12 volt, my question is can i use these switch's on 24 volt and if so how many amps could I safely run through these switch's. I would like to use them on my clearance & headlights, Defrosters and other 24 volt accessories. Thanks Jason.

  Jason , Use the formula  P (power in watts) =  I (current ) x E (voltage )
             20 x12 = 240 watts
             At 24 volts     240 / 20 = 10 amps
