Has anyone run into this problem. I could use some ideas from the bus pro's. With the tail lights on all four rear tail lights operate properly. When the brake pedal is pressed the left rear lower light goes out completely while the upper left light stays on as a tail light. During this process the right hand lights work properly, tail lights are both on and when the brake is pushed the bottom light goes to stop light.
I have checked bulbs and sockets and they look fine. I do not have a wiring diagram and could use some direction on where to find a wiring diagram and an MCI 102 service manual.
If anyone can give me some direction it would be greatly appreciated.

What happens if you jumper the good side (R) to the bad side (L)? Does that light both brake lites properly? I see stuff like this with semi trailers and it is always a ground issue. Use the same jumper wire to ground the bulb socket to the main bus frame or - battery terminal. That said I have never worked on an MCI, so take yur chances!
sound like a ground problem! Try the jumper as NJT 5573 suggested! I'd try both just a "new good" ground location & the good side's ground. FWIW ;D BK ;D
By the way it's been a while, but yes we did have that problem once! And after we added a ground close to it it would work right. But would blow the bulb every other day or so! When we ran a ground over to the otherside and tied them together we never ever had another problem. Don't ask me what difference it made, but it did!

I will attach a new ground wire and see what that does. I know a bad ground can cause problems. I will also tie the new ground to both sides for assurance.
In looking at the light sockets I think I will replace them. I'm getting ready to put her in the shop for the winter and I think I will pull the raer light assemblies apart a, clean everything up and replace some of the components. Next year when I get out on the road I do not want to have light issues.
I'll try the ground wire addition today and get back to you with the results.

Well, BK was right on with his thoughts on a bad ground being the problem. I found that one of the sockets had a ground wire that was almost broken clear through. I went down to NAPA and ordered all new sockets and lenses for the rear of the bus. I will pull the light housings off, and polish the stainless underneath and then reinstate with all new lenses, sockets, and bulbs. I do not want to have light issues when I get out on the highway. All new sockets, lenses and bulbs cost me about $150.00. When i get it all cleaned up and rewired it should be good for years.
