JT,

Hang in there and were hoping everything turns better for you soon.

As they say "Everything is bigger in Texas" Just not what you had in mind!  (laughing with you, not at you)  ;D

So don't be too surprized!  ;)

Get well soon.

JT,
rest easy while the rest of us fight bus issues, or enjoy low gas (not diesel  ??? ???) prices for going back and forth to political rallys, food lines and unemployment offices.

it could be worse, you could be a small town stockbroker.

relax, let that swelling go down. and enjoy a brief respite from working.  later you can get up and start planning the next improvement, like a tv lift as blacksheep put in.

take care and stay safe.  glad you are able to write.

Hi buswarrior,
I suspect that he is refering to giving himself shots of low molecular weight heperin, subcutainously, in his abdomin. Those shots are a transition to warfarin (anticoagulant) to disolve the clot. I won't boor you with why I know that.
Good luck, Sam 4106

I have contended for quite a while that these bodies have too many problems.  There were obviously not designed by the Japanese.

Keep hanging in there. When I am in unbearable pain, I pray to ask the Lord to comfort me several times. Some time there no pill that can comforting better than praying to the creator.

I'll be continuing praying for you...jlaney.

Keep us posted!

Surgery of any kind is a risk, but when it happens to you ... well you need all the moral support and words of comfort you can get.  I know, been there myself.  Same medical problem, but different type of cure.  A word of advice to all the guys listening (reading); when diagnosed with prostate cancer get more than one medical evaluation and then carefully study all the available treatment options.  There are many options, trust me.  Also it helps to chat with guys who have had the various treatments so you can get some grass roots info.  I'll be glad to privately chat with any fellow who is considering brachytherapy (seed radiation) for prostate cancer.  With my stage of cancer growth, this was my choice.  May not be best for other stages, however.  Thusfar, I'm happy with the results.  Not that any guy is ever "happy" about a prostate problem.

Dad had that surgery years ago. The experience wasn't pleasant & the recovery was long.

BUT, the results are GREAT. Everything is back to normal & no cancer.  8)  ;D

Hang in there, seems you are in good company . . . Lots of BTDT support for 'ya.

It could be worse, you could have my job to look forward to returning to . . . . . .

Merlin that is good information, I had the same procedure as Jt did, mine was a year and a half ago!  So far so good on my PSA's!  There are many different treatments for sure just don't put them off, my Doctor told me I made a life saving decision at the time by not putting it off, my cancer was more advanced they they thought!  Every case is different just listen to your Doctor!  A PSA is just a simple blood test, very inexpensive and something everyone our age should look into!
