Anybody using the Floscan fuel log on their bus I purchased 3 at bankrupt sale and installing 1 on my diesel fired heat to see how much fuel it uses , getting close to ski season and I think they use more fuel than what the manufactures say mine does anyway. have a great day
I haven't used one on this bus, but I did have a 1986 Pete that I installed one on. It helped me make informed decisions on how I drove the truck and that in turn raised my fuel mileage by 2/10ths of a mile per gallon.
That doesn't sound like much, but when running 5 trucks and each one doing over 125K/yr in mileage, even 1/100th mpg was a plus on the bottom line.
If the price is right, and you want to get rid of one, I would be interested in getting it from you.
Dallas
We thought of using them on the boats some years ago but the return fuel flow was the determining factor.
As I understood it..the return flow of fuel from Detroits' had to be known to plug into the equation if you were going to determine actual fuel flow and as I recall that isn't a consistant figure which can be plugged in.
Just things to make your mind go WOW! ;D
NCbob
NCbob;I don't know how the return fuel could be a determining factor they have a sensor for the supply and the return lines am I missing something here that I should know thanks and have a great day

Purchased 3? Are you in selling 1 and how much? Jack
Jack; they were sold in 3 box lots if I knew how much those units cost I would have bought both lots the second sold cheaper than mine,if I decide to sell 2 I will let you and Dallas have 1st shot and it will be what I paid cheap I never make any money off things been in the cow business to long buy high and sale low have a great day
Couple of questions since I actually don't know. With the current DDEC system, do you have the option of asking the system/boat/truck for instant, average, longterm and trip MPG/GPH figures? Dunno.
Also, would the way the fuel flow gadgets just described work, would they be more designed for a constant flow, constant load type of application...like a boat, aeroplane, or in this case a diesel heater? :) :) :)
MMA2S,
Please put me in the que if Jack and Dallas take a pass.
Thanks,
John
