Like I said the other day I'm finally back working on the bus after 2 months of loafing. Steve thanks for the call I needed that! ;D I've updated the site enjoy the pictures and I await the feedback!..........One more thing you all need to check KySteves site out, I believe Steve is doing the best job I've ever seen for a conversion or for that matter a store bought one too! Steve keep up the great work! Steves' site: http://ourbusconversion.blogspot.com/ when you get though there mine is at the bottom of the post!
I commented on your great progress the other day, and now I have to commend Steve. First I have to say that I would be afraid to undertake what he did to begin with. Second, I have to say that I have never liked the fact that Eagles use a piano hinge on the front edge of the door. I have been talking to Don about putting something more like an MCI hinge on mine. Steve has done something very similar to what I was talking about. Not exactly the same but the same result.
I don't know Steve, or even if he is on the forum, but do you think he has plans for the hinge he would share?
Songman, thanks for the comments the other day as well as today's! Steve made that hinge from pictures he saw on my site and made them without any dimensions, the guy is remarkable!
Is that a Prevost style hinge or something you came up with? I will definitely have to look over both sites again to catch all those little details.
Songman that is a Prevost hinge its extremely heavy duty! Steve is on this board also under the name KySteve! One more thing that Hurricane heater should be a dandly I'll find out later this year or early next! I'll keep you posted!
Wow Pat, its looking good buddy. 8) Thanks for the ole slap on the back there too. I would think that now that you have a sort of a truss like roof rib they are a lot stronger also. You have, as Gary would say, one bang up of a conversion there. The influx of new fixtures (airconditioners and wiring) will be good for the weary head too. I know I have been going coo coo looking at a bare @$# frame for a year and a half now too. Did you get a chance to open up the can of rustbullet yet? I would be curious to know the condition of it. Keep up the great work there and keep updating the blog as we are all needing the same inspriation (and you put out plenty of it) to keep going in this crazy hobby we call bus converting. ;D ;D ;D ;)
Dale if you dig deep into my blog, I went into great detail on the fabrication of those door hidges and I would be happy to make you a pattern if you need it. Thanks for the compliments allso. :)
...........Kentucky Steve...................
Wow! Both of you guys are doing a bang up job!
Wonder who will finish first? ::)
While I was up in Vancouver WA a couple of weeks ago I toured the Pennisula Window factory. Nice setup, and very accommodating. I got prices for six windows for our Eagle, ouch! Should have bought them 3 years ago when it was lower! ;)
Good Luck Guys,
Paul

I'd check out Cody's source! $20 bucks apeice is hard to beat! ;D BK ;D
BK,
I was actually their with my friend Doug who bought the MCI 102A3, he was pricing some for his coach and as long as I was there I got one too.
I know, Cody got a great deal. But unfortunately I'm a long way away and the freight would be unbearable. :'(
A friend of mine in Canby OR has some, but then again, freight. :'(
Paul
Tell me about these cheap windows! I am getting 9 Peninsula windows with the 20 but I don't know if they are single or double pane or anything else about them.
Also, does anyone know where you would find round porthole style windows? I still want to try to adapt my warbonnet paint scheme to the Eagle that I was going to use on the RTS. Of course it will be stainless from the beltline down.

Cody bought some at Bontragers....http://bontragers.com/site/index.php/page/html/1/Welcome-to-Bontragers-Surplus-Inc
He says they have a bunch of them.
If you are getting Pennisula windows with the 20, they are considered one of the best brands.
Let me know if you are not using any of them, maybe I could talk Don Fairchild into bringing them to me if he comes back to the Abilene TX area. ;D
Doubt they would fit my 01 though. :(
HTH,
Paul
