Peabody, the problem would be with that bus if anything happens to the torque suspension part's are not available for repairs and it cost a fortune to upgrade to different ones but that is a classy bus. They only built about 40 of those buses and why anyone would remove the 6 windshields and replace them with a cheap cap destroying the classic look of the coach  is beyond me         good luck

That could be one of the reasons it has been sitting there forever.lol How much is a fortune? Maybe if I can get this bus for little of nothing I can get that converted?Just a thought? I can walk away but this is the first bus I actually think fits me,Old and quirky,LMAO.Really do like that old bird. Thank-You, Peabody

Peabody, if the torques are bad most of the Eagle owners I know add air bags to up the height for 2500 to 3000 dollars but replacing the torque to the later from model 05 to the 15 cost about 25 grand I have a buddy that replaced his about 2 years ago parts alone were over 15 grand Good luck on your search FWIW the bus is setting about right height for a Eagle 14in from the ground may have good torques you never know that being a 50 year old bus

VIN# 27758 New from Kassbohrer,Ulm,Germany went to Continental Trailways Dixie Lines.
I would call Mr Norris at Jefferson Truck & Bus Repair 1-800-813-9367 and ask him his opinion of the above coach and what to look for.
Also ask what it would cost for the torsolastic suspension replacements if they are still available.
I think you will find that the age and parts replacement cost might make you want to question should I buy it or not. ???
Good luck in your search.

Peabody, please do not ask for Mr. Norris the rest of us will have to live him after that just ask for "Norris" and have a full charge on your phone, now would be a good time his boss is Branson we Eagle owners love the guy (till he starts pricing)  then Jeff loves him  good luck

That is one sweet looking Eagle. I have not seen one that old in driving condition.

As luvrbus said, have someone look at the torques and see how much is left for adjustment. If they are the original, probably not much. You never know, maybe someone did replace them. They are expensive to replace.

Clifford (luvrbus) knows Eagles, he is a great contact for this bird.

Norris really knows his Eagles, as he worked at the Eagle factory in Brownsville many years ago. He will talk and talk, he loves to share his knowledge. ;)

Good Luck and let us know what else you find out.

Where is it located in Washington? I might have to go back up to Vancouver in a week or two, I would like to see it.

Waiting on a call they have six lots in Washington if they don't call me today I'll call them again later.
Ya, I know squat about buses so if I find one I'm serious about I'll send my expert out to look at it. I'll give Norris, that was the name?, a call as soon as I find out if they still have the bus. Peabody

Well, I can see my luck hasn't changed, the eagle has flown the coop >:(  lol. The lady who answered the phone wouldn't tell me when or for how much, figures, but they were asking $59,900.My laid back ways has cost me at least a look at that sweet bus.but maybe it was for the best.Thank-You for the opinions and for Norris's # I'll keep that for possible future reference.Oh well back to the hunt. Peabody,

I was driving from Seattle to Vancouver a copule of weeks ago and saw an Eagle for sale in a fenced storage place. It looked real nice, had smooth sides, I think. It's north of Woodland heading south on the right. I did stop and go look but the place was locked up and nobody answered the doorbell.

I'll see if my buddy remembers which exit on I-5 and let you know if you want.

Won't go into details but I don't drive in or near Seattle. And DH is back over the road and my daughter will drive south on I-5 but not north, lol. But Thank-You for the info on the bus.Something will come along eventually and in the mean time my money will sit in the bank and grow not fast but steady.  Peabody

There's one sitting in Augusta GA, at Lewis Bus.  They have it sitting in their scrap lot, although Talmadge said he'd never scrap it.  He said it was originally Hank Williams bus.  I can't remember the windshield layout, but a true Golden Eagle, they are to say the least "striking" the first time you see one.

Peabody,

The Eagle I spoke of is just north of Kalama WA. Not even close to Seattle. ;) I don't like driving in that mess either but a buddy of mine wanted to look at an MCI 102A3, he ended up buying it. I used to live in LA and that's the worst moving parking lot in the world.

Let me know,

Paul

PS I sent you a personal message regarding Ken's Eagle
