i can get a good deal on a webasto but its 24v and i need 12v can you convert to 12v ?
if so what would be needed ? thanks ps can you ask more then one ? in a post

Crown, they can be converted to 12v Kevin a friend of mine did one I know somebody is going to say how cheap it is to do but he paid over $700.00 for new parts from Webasto but the unit was given to him

I don't know about converting them to 12volt, but if you decide not to purchase and convert the unit and it is a good deal, I'd be interested in buying it. I'am looking for a 24volt unit.

Another thought is to possibly trade someone who has a 12 volt that is not installed yet.

Haven't searched for a while but 12vdc to 24vdc converters were not easy to find.
Here are a couple of links.
First one was my choice, appearance of rugged industrial construction, lots of detailed spec's but since I last looked they've added the notation. "Motors: Running motors from these units will void the warranty.

This one looks a little simplistic and not much info' on specs but there are "Pump controller versions" so obviously manufacturer approved for motor loads.

Pump controller versions by this manufacturer and sold by a number of the Solar outfits are controlled by a float switch across 2 flying leads. Your heating thermostat would do the same thing.
Haven't seen or handled either of these units. I use a 110vac to 24vdc power supply bought at auction.

As noted, buy the 24 volt unit and use it's value to get a 12 volt one.
The brains alone of the thing is somewhere $500, and you'll have to buy one of those for sure...
Lots of us are running 24 volt systems, you've already got a buyer up there!
