I have been trying to troubleshoot my water temp gauge not showing anything! After several hours of checking this and that, and replacing wiring that was badly cracked going to the left bank, I had this bright idea of checking the front electrical panel. Wah La, staring me in the face was #74 wire not hooked up to the terminal strip. I just smiled and said to myself "Well at least I got the wiring fixed that had been bothering me". I have no idea how the spade came off, it went on tight. I'm blaming the gremlins, I couldn't have done it! HA ;D
Funny thing is the gauge that has been wired was a SW, so I thought usually gauge and sender must match, right? I just happen to have a VDO Eagle gauge sitting around and not doing anything. Checked the gauge reading with my IR gun at the sender, both within a few degrees.
Now on to fix the other bank. And yes I did check the terminals. HA
I'm Happy Now!
Paul
Thanks for sharing this one Paul. Hopefully that will save someone else some time. Maybe me. ;D
Kind Regards, Phil
Sounds ike some of the things I have been doing with this bus of mine.
I have digital gauges and they show pertty close to the out side temp before you start the DD.
Funny how thoses wires can do so much.

It's like that old joke about why things are always in the last place you look (because you stop looking). Sometimes the repair turns out to be so obvious that it seems we should have looked there first. If only life were so simple.... Anyway, I just count the time as education.
I know the feeling well, we often share these expirences at BA (busaholic"s anonymous) meetings. About the only thing I have not done so far is drive down the road with the awning extended. Jim

Paul, you really don't know what stupid is I hate to tell this but I had a habit of hooking my safety cables up before the towbar one time I did just that got distracked by the grand kids got them in the bus drove about 100yds to a stop sign and the rest is history. But Jim Sheperd makes me feel good let him tell you his story good luck
Could have been worserer. Might have been a "captive" instead of a "spade" and it STILL fell off...with the nut still tight. Then....how would you have explained THAT? :) :) :)
I'd like to nominate BK to be the first inductee into the silent busnuts ;D

Hey I resemble that! ;D BK ;D
I do believe that qualifies you as "Captain for the Day." ;) :D
Too bad it's so late in the day, as I'm sure Becky would have done much more for you if she had more time ::).
;D Christy Hicks ;D
Seems that as I get older, I find myself saying that more often! Hmmmmm?? Jack
I would have never posted that if I was younger. Now I just don't care, I have an excuse anyway, I have "Wisdom Hair". ::)
Still Laughing about it,
Paul
