Hi Clifford,
I wanted to upgrade my F vent also but found a 6600R on e-bay for 180.00 so I did it that way.
Much easier..
I will find the seller for you and pass it on

Hi Clifford,
This is the seller that I purchaced my 6600r from. He doesn't have any listed right now but, it might pay
to watch his auction for a week or so.

Thanks Nick for a 180.00 that would be hard not to replace the comp;ete fan, I'll keep my eyes open
I've got the fan-tastic fans on my Airstream. As nice as they are, I'd rather have a vent that can be left open while traveling. Mine close in the rain too. That is OK if you're not there, but when boondockin', it leaves something to be desired at night . . . . .
Fewer moving parts wouldn't be bad either.
Hi Kyle,
On the 6600r, you can simply pull the manual handle down and it becomes a completely manual vent.
You can even set the fan speed to what you like and travel with it open, closed, or even partially open, and automatic.

We have a hood over the Fantastic Fan so it can be left open in rain and when traveling.
We have the Maxx-air vent, it's got the fan outside the bus, much quieter than the fan-tastic fan. The biggest difference is the hood, the fan is mounted in the hood instead of the ceiling, it's a 3 speed fan thats reversable so it'll pull air in or exhaust air out. http://www.maxxair.com/Products/Turbo-Maxx.aspx
Cody, the maxx air are good fans my daughter and the wife's son in law have them on their S&S and work great but they are not a option for me I want a clean roof line and those about 10 inches high, plus they have replaced the covers already due to the sun.Nick and I just like gadgets I guess (like the remote control)

Clifford I hope some day to have you & Nick's problems LOL! ;D BK ;D
remote control? cool lol
Yep, mine have the manual feature too.
When running off the batteries, I like the auto mode to save what I can . . . . They work so well that I forget to switch to manual mode . . . . Until AFTER I'm in the middle of something else :o
The covers are something I need to look into . . . .
Ya know if the thing fails while in auto mode & you aren't there, an extra cover would be nice. ;D
Where do buy the upgrade I asked a RV dealer and was told no such thing made (his price was 359.00 per fan), but reading the web he was wrong and are the remotes programmable so just 1 fan will work at a time or is there a remote for each have a great day
Hi Lin,
I don't like those plastic fins sticking up from my roof so, I built my vent over the shower..
Sometimes the shower gets a shower. ;D
