Title: I need help!
Post by: Busted Knuckle on September 19, 2008, 05:27:02 PM
Hey ya'll I'm crying because they've sent all the out of state buses home as of today from Texas! Mine haven't made it in yet, but trust me they are on the way!

Now to make things worse the drivers faxed in their pay sheets from the last 12 days. Well I got to figuring up the invoice, and while doing so I still got choked up that they were coming home so soon!
Well I wiped my eyes with a dry napkin, and now all I can see is $ signs!

Any idea how to make them go away?

;D  BK  ;D

Calculate the taxes on the profit?  That should take care of it.

????????? WHAT? ?????????

How are all these people going to get back south?

What did you do haul them all up here and then expect them to walk back.  They are telling them they can't go back for another week at least now.

I under$tand that completely Bob it i$ why I wa$ crying. I didn't want our bu$e$ coming home yet! But there are a bunch of of people upset at the amount of out of $tate bu$e$ that were there! $o they $ent all out of $tate bu$e$ home and $aid that TEXA$ bu$e$ would handle it from here!

Personally I am upset because the state of Texas insisted last yr that we sing a 3 or 5 yr contract promising to respond with all the equipment we could spare on an on call basis. And that we'd be first called because of signing a contract! (and in my opinion we should be able to stay till the end or as long as we can!)

But in actuality for Gustav we were LAST called after the state subbed it out to a small company from FL, who called on any & everybody but those that had contracts first (so they could pay them about 25% less)!

Only after I called the TX department of Procurement and complain did we get asked to bring what we had ASAP! (which was only 1 because dad & Robert were already on there way to Amarillo helping Jeff out on a military move in his buses! Dave was on vacation, Larry can't leave home for more than a weekend and also has a real job & I was in MN and Mom was the only one driver available at home.)
So she took a bus and left! Dad & Robert met up with her in Dallas, and dad went on to San Antonio with her. And Robert came on home and went on his already planned vacation  (or he'd be in divorce court now! LOL!)

But on IKE they were quick to call and tell us to return ASAP!

We had 1 down there for GUSTAV and 3 for IKE! I stayed home to run the show and take care of a few charters we had here!
Jeff had 3 in TX & 1 in LA for GUSTAV, and 5 in TX and 3 in LA for IKE!
Don had 3 in LA for GUSTAV, and 3 in TX for IKE!
(Jeff & Don are close associates that we work with regularly and both of them have TX contracts also!)

Thanks for the compliment.  We were at another charter company and I looked inside their buses and wanted to get my little toothbrush and cleaning rags and show them how it is done. I could have gotten those buses cleaner if I had one arm and a blindfold.  I never saw such a poor job.  Your buses came back cleaner after a football game than those buses were after cleaning.

I can certainly picture that! You always did a great job on ours!

And thank you for the compliment! As you already know I am a firm believer that people don't care as much about how new it is, so much as that  it rides good & IS CLEAN!

And thank GOD you never had to clean one after a FRATERNITY SPRING FORMAL FL RUN! You'd clobbered me and the frat guys! LOL! Cody & Libby can testify to that for me! Cody saw one of them that came in and said "I've seen breweries distilleries with less alcohol in them! LOL!"

I sure can attest to that, wow, that had to be a great party, now I can see why BK was so reluctant to haul all those drunken bikini clad co-eds around, I would have helped him but I was threatened with physical violence if I brought up the subject so we all kinda just threw BK to the wolves, or is it wolvesses, wolvienes? oh well you get the picture lol.  It was a sacrifice that had to be done, and I'll give BK credit for stoicall saving us from the pain, he took on the responsibility and walked straight into the lionesses dens and hauled them all over florida without a complaint or even so much as a whimper.

And once again the noble heroic bus driver throws himself into harms way (or was it into arms waved) to protect his friends from certain bodily injury. ;D

Bryce, what you really need is a love to take you into her arms and hold you and tell you that it's "OK". You did what you felt you had to do to help. I recall your efforts during "Katrina" and "Rita" and no one can challenge your motives.

Basically what we have here is a breakdown between the Administration and the people who voted them in and the promises made.

My heart goes out to to those on the Galveston Island (12,000 if I wish to believe the news) who were told to leave.

How you managed to get caught up in this, again, only tells me that you have a heart and that money isn't your motive.

Somehow, if there is a God, He will bless you and yours for your efforts.

Bob

Bob you are right $ is not the main motive! But on the other hand it don't hurt! LOL! We are always willing to do our part to help, but my theory is "if the gubberment gonna throw $ away uselessly. GIMMIE MINE!" Shoot somebody got do it! LOL! ;D  BK  ;D

By the way don't remind me of the BCF I ever seen called Katrina & Rita! Shoot I still have nightmares of the stupidity that went down there! Not to mention having our ex-partners wife embezzle $15-$20,000 from us while we we living in SEATED charter buses in a truck stop parking lotfor nearly a month!  :(  BK   :(

NCbob opened a can of worms now and I'm going fishing lol, libby and I have had the privelege of spending time with BK and his parents and it would be hard to find nicer people, these are the people that will load tools into a truck and take off on a moments notice because somebody is broke down, or will make phone call after phone call to find information out for somebody, chances are they have the answers but in the event they don't they go the extra mile and beyond to find the answer.  These same people, when they found out that it was libby and my anniversary loaded us up in a car and off we went to lamberts for dinner, anything they may have had scheduled was put on the back burner when they found out, I'm not the least bit surprised that they are on the call in list for hurricane relief, it fits right into who they are.

well, BK, now that Cody has defended how polite, generous, thoughtful you are, and you have pointed out the excess cash you are about to recieve, you should consider yourself really well off and lucky.  :)

Now, to discuss and paraphrase something sen biden said the other day about taxes and patriotism for bailouts, i would like to suggest you shortcut the government red tape and suggest you just bail me out instead of funneling back to the government who would just turn around and send it to me to use because i spent too much on my credit card, my $million house and fuel went up so i can't drive around as much.  :( :(

this is your opportunity to be a patriotic american and save stamp money by sending it directly to me. ;D ;D

Well I most certainly admire you offering for me to assist in bailing you out Tom. But I'm gonna have to put it on hold for the moment, seems I'm gonna have bail ourselves out first!

I just can't believe these pesky drivers! I just sent them on an "ALL EXPENSE PAID PLEASURE CRUISE in TX" and now they want PAID! Oops no $ for payroll till the hurricane $ comes in! (I tried telling them to send me paper work so I start invoicing it sooner!)
;D  BK  ;D

Seems I might have forgotten that payroll needed to be made!

Whoa Cody! Me? Open a can of worms? Certainly you can't be talking about little ol' fuzzball me!  ;)
I've never opened a can of worms...where I stuck around to see what the final event was.......

I would never question the motives of the Gastons...not for a second...but it wouldn't hurt if some little doll like Jennifer Anniston walked up and took that big wrench out of BK's teeth and gave him a big hug!
