hi my excitement was short lived, the guy i talked to thought i had a 6 bolt crank, but i have a 8 and my flexplate is a 8 , so what im looking for is the part is called a hub adapter, thanks for any help
Ken, have you tried these guys www.utxchange.com 1-800-527-1637 I have had good luck with them on my Bennett shifter by speaking with the shop formen first so I would know what part to ask for, call him I think he can help good luck
Ken here is 1 more place for you to try S&J Chevrolet 562-219-2483 ask for Bob Ward don't let the S&J name fool you these guys are a large Allision dealer if Bob hasn't retired he will know where to get it (I hope) good luck I am out of contacts
thanks , i tried utxchange, no luck, they say you have to buy the complete flywheel, which is dicontinued, the other guy is retired, thanks anyways, not sure what to do
Ken, are you positive the 6 bolt will not work DD is famous for using 1 part for different bolt patterns and engines.I know on my harmonic balancer hub it has 10 bolts holes but you use 8 good luck
The DD manual has a chapter on taping out the dowel stud hole to make a 8 hole crank out of a 6 hole, you might check into drilling out the dowel hole to make it a 8 hole. Just a thought. Bob
The 6 bolt hub will work on a 8 bolt crank and if you want 8 bolts drill the centre hub have a great day
Ken, Bob Ward sent me this CO'S name and number Scharf & CO (chuck)1-888-676-4546 told me they stocked of out of production parts for Allision and Detroit hope this helps good luck
hi i have called the sharf place , but they want part numbers, ive tried to find a 5c parts book, but i cant find one, the one place i talked to said that it has the part number, but they didnt have time to look it up, they said they talked to mci directly and they were the one that said it was no longer aval , thanks again guys, starting to think that maybe a small block check could go in there, 0 to 60 in 15 min
