Title: northern Minnesota campout for bus nuts
Post by: John Z on September 09, 2008, 06:52:44 PM
A few of us are camping out the weekend of Sept 26 - 28, Fri to Sun. We even have a S&S coming, so we need to pitch in and show this guy the light! Anyone who would like to attend is welcome.

We are staying at the Red Fox campground which is located just west off of I-35 at the Moose Lake exit. They have sites with elec and water hookups for 22.50 a night. There is a dump station on site. There is a community bldg with a fireplace we can use if the weather does not cooperate. They do not take credit cards, but so far have been willing to hold a site just on your good word! Tell them you are with the bus group!

So if you are on your way heading south for the winter; or want to come up and do some leaf peeping; bring your brats, steaks and cocktails, and join us. Sorry for the short notice, we will try to do better next year!

John,

We're still discussing it. The may be homecoming weekend, which doesn't necessarily prevent me from coming, but may be alone.

Hi, John:

We won't make it this time around, but if it becomes an annual event, Donna and I may make it next year.

Best regards.

I will be already on a week long bus trip covering that weekend.

The bus rallies I have attended to date have been boondocking only.  I am not set up to stay at a campground with facilities.  I have electric hookup, but no external freshwater hookup.

I would just use my tanks, but I (and the bus) will be 2,000 miles away that weekend.

Great news Devin! I regretted having to leave your place in Bemidji in such a hurry last July. Now you will have to give a bus tour to all of us! See you guys in a couple weeks!

Hilary and I have our reservations made and will be there Friday evening after work.  We are looking forward to this time of using our bus and meeting up with all you guys!

I made my reservation this morning. Will be there Friday night.

Brian, let me know if you want to travel up together. I'll be going up 169 to Milaca and over across 23 to Hinckley, and up I35. Will be leaving here around 5:00.

Devin, check your voice mail. You aren't registered at the campground, so if you are planning on going and staying there, you better call the lady because she said she's about out of sites.

Grumpy seems Janet and just drove by there. Hope all have fun. I might find myself up there in a few years. Today is the day to get some siding on the window section of the bus.

John,

Good luck with the siding. Post some photos as you progress.

I'll let you know when we're out in WY next, and maybe you can come spend some time in the mountains with us.

We're sure looking forward to seeing you all next weekend! The leaves are really starting to look nice, we might be lucky in hitting close to peak weekend.  :)

If you haven't already, it would be great if everyone who's planning on coming would call Peggy at Red Fox Campground/RV Park and let her know- I talked to her today and told her that more may be calling, and she is willing to try and squeeze in everyone. She has been very accommodating and nice to deal with so far.  The number is 218-485-0341. Thanks!

We'll see you next weekend!!   Have a safe trip.

Debbie

We won't make it this time. We spent 4 days in Bayfield last weekend and were out at Atwater, MN the weekend before so we've got to stay home and get some hay baling done and some wood split. Maybe next year. Went right by the exit on I-35 Sunday afternoon!!

It's a shame you're going to miss all the good wine I'm bringing.  :P

Rats, I hate how you always get me where I'm most vulnerable.

(wish I could be there to see how Brian's LEDs look)
