Well, Fay's eye is about 50 miles SE of us. No damage, but our area lost power about 9:15 this AM, still out at 1 PM (with all the outages, it may be a while). No Problem! We moved into the bus, transferred stuff from our home refrigerator to the one in the bus. Turned the TV on to keep track of the storm and we are "good to go".
We have a total of about 220 gallons of diesel on the place between the bus, generator, and dually fuel tanks.

SURE IS NICE TO OWN A BUS!!!

Hi Jack....Good report. Owning a finish bus is the way to go. Amen!
How fast you think the wind is blowing?
Hope everything calm down quickly.
Take care, Jerry

I don't think our winds exceeded 60 MPH. They are just blowing for hours. They are prediciting 4-8" of rain. Jack
OH YEAH!!!
Self contained is a most responsible way to keep from being a burden on the local emergency infrastructure when it all goes bad.
Not to mention piece of mind, and still internet accessible!
the satelite shots on the weather place from the other link show Jack underneath the storm, waving...
happy coaching!

Jack,
I was thinking (IF safe) you could set a MPG record if you could use that wind at your bacK!
Hope all are safe

Yes, My Millenicom air card has certainly been worth it's weight in gold today. Jack
Power is back on (after about 6 1/2 hours) and we are back in our house. Overall, compared to Charley, this was a walk in the park. We had max winds of about 60 MPH and about 3" of rain at our place. Thanks for all the phone calls, emails, and offers of a place to come to. Jack
Over here in N Ft Myers, we had some wind and a lot of rain. It was realy horrible when we lost the satellite TV signal for about 20 minutes. I was truely at wits end and ready to go to the emergency shelter. Do they have cable at the shelters??
Jack,
Glad you and Paula weathered the storm OK.
We are just enjoying a few rain bands and some wind.
Maybe next time....Ugggh! ;)
Cliff
We didn't get anything but a breeze. No rain, not a drop. Lots of clouds.
Glad everyone south of didn't have any problems. We are four wheeling it to the Keys tomorrow.

Glad to hear things are ok. I have stayed in my bus several times when I did not want to stay in the house. A couple of times when the power went out because of snow and ice and once when I was refinishing the wood floors because of the oder and I could not walk on the floors. They can come in handy for sure!
Still breezey here. The winds didn't get much over 45mph here. The eye is about 60 miles north of us now. The rain is still coming in waves. We had 9" yesterday and road flooding is the only problem so far. It was the best kind of storm for us here. We have been close to drought conditions here for the last couple years.
JJ,
Thanks! ;D I needed that. :D
John
Hey Jack,
How 'bout sending some of that rain our way!? (Virginia) Glad you're comfortable and safe. ...sounds almost like you're havin' fun! LOL
