Title: Steam Threshing
Post by: Fredward on August 18, 2008, 08:45:13 PM
For anyone up here in the upper Midwest. The Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion runs Thurs-Monday Labor day weekend. Located about 30 miles south of Fargo, ND on I-94. Its the grand daddy of threshing shows at least in Minnesota and the Dakotas.

My seven year old son and I attend every year and dry camp right on the grounds in a hay field. We sometimes meet up with relatives from North Dakota. Its a blast and if you are looking for something fun to do this Labor Day weekend and another excuse to get the coach on the road. This year they are featuring antique John Deere tractors. I've mentioned it to a few other bus nuts here in the area and we might hook up there.

You can check out the WMSTR web site. www.rollag.com

The past two years we have had the only converted bus amongst a hundred or so campers. Maybe we can change that this year!

They just left Sturgis and I missed it along with the wagon train that came through .

You brought back quite a few memories Fredward.  Thanks!

I went to Rolag many times while growing up in west central Minnesota.  My father collected hit & miss engines, and had an old Cock-Shutt (sp) tractor we displayed at the show.  Good times!
