Title: Girard Awnings?
Post by: grantgoold on August 12, 2008, 05:51:07 PM
Has anyone had experiences with Girard awnings? I have access to the G2000 automatic awning. Need to know about your experiences with customer service and parts. I spoke with the tech today and they seem very helpful. The awning retails for $4500.00 which was more than my bus cost originally!!!!! Of course I am paying farrrrrrrrrrrr less than that.

Thanks

Grant

Girard and Zip Dee are best on the market but don't buy into the lifetime warranty if wind or rain causes you a problem they will not honor the warranty and make sure you have all the parts and wind senors or you will be back at the 4500 dollars price the parts are expensive, and you do know that they are a 110V not 12v and you need power to them all the time when out in a some time high winds area and they do not look nice laying on top of the bus after a sudden wind don't ask how I know   good luck

Hi Grant,

Girard's are the most popular but, not the best as far as construction.

A&E's LA03 awning has 4 coated cables per arm and Girard has 2. A&E also has a solid state wind sensor and Girard's has

a propeller that often catches debree.

Here are the cut sheets on the A&E
