hey all
Got 1001 moved home yesterday. Trip went super smooth. No problems. Home safe and sound in my shed. I have the best truck driver....he even bought supper! About 500 miles from Belpre, Ohio to Peoria, IL. I posted a bunch of new photos of the move to the PD4501-1001 album over on the scenicruiser21 yahoo site. Also posted about 20 short videos of the move on youtube.com Just search Scenicruiser 1001, and you will find them on you tube.
Tom McNally :)
I've taken a few buses out for rides like that before. Trust me, YOU paid for that supper. ;D
Good that the trip was un-eventfull & you didn't have any parts getting off early. ;)
Tom- you definitely have your work cut out for you. Are you making a motorhome out of 1001? Or restoring it? I hope you have a good windshield glass maker that can custom make the upper triangle corner windows and windshields for you-have seen too many Scenicruisers with those windows blanked out. Good Luck, TomC
It is a complete restoration job - including reinstalling the rear emergency exit!
Way to go McNally!
Kyle, I asked tom in an IM, he hasn't answered yet, what happened to the original emergency door?
I know where there is on on a 4104 that "We" can take out for $200.00 if you need one Tom.
Jack
PS...or I could trade you out of it! LOL
Greyhound removed it & installed a rear window like all the other 4501's.
Tom has another seated 4501 that he uses to take his son's school class on field trips. ;D
He also has a nice seated 4104.
"KWEL! JUST TOO KWEL!"
Tom took a total rust bucket cruiser & used what he could of it to make his son a playhouse . . . .
These are from the yahoo scenicruiser21 group.
Tom, YOU 'DA MAN!!!
I have a strong desire to slit my wrists right now. There is nothing more beuatiful than a Scenicruiser, maybe a Kenworth K-100 Aerodyne. I was travelling from Wheeling, WV to Gallipolis, OH when I saw this unit on a guy's property. I was late for my destination so I pushed on by, figuring I would stop and talk to the owner later. It was late and dark when I rolled back through and I could not find it again. I continued home thinking I would get down there again and buy the thing from the guy. It unfortunately got back-burnered and I bought a 9. Oh well, lesson learned. I hope you have tons of fun with this beauty and I hope I get to see it in person some day.
Josh
If that's the same one you could see from US 50, coming from Parkersburg, WV, then I passed it several times too, always wondered what it was doing there.
Good luck with it!
That was probably PD4501-536. Same owner, but slightly different location. Correct Belpre, Ohio just across the Ohio river from Parkersburg, WV. PD4501-1001 was stored inside a building at a location across town. Good eye though! way to spot those cruisers! Keep it up, take photos, and report those serial numbers here! I keep track of those numbers and where they are. 536 is the famous hatchback Scenicruiser that hauls a corvette around in the back. Owner still has that one. Thanks
Tom McNally
I believe I saw another one in my home town, Middletown OH. Know of that one yet? If not, I'll stop and check it out sometime, and lead him to this board.
Is that near Cincinatti? I don't think I know of that one. Let me know, would like the serial number.
